Presentation Academy was founded by the Daughters of the Cross of Treguier, France, in 1854 at Hydropolis (Cocoville), Louisiana, as the first Catholic girls’ school in Avoyelles Parish and was relocated to South Washington Street in Marksville, Louisiana, after the Civil War. It is located north of East Wadill Street, on the right when traveling north, Later it became co-educational.
