Salyersville, KY 41465
The Magoffin County Pioneer Village and Museum is located at 191 South Church Street in Salyersville, Kentucky between WRLV Salyersville Radio station and the Lloyd M. Hall Community Center. Presently there is a collection of 19 authentic log buildings that have been reconstructed on the grounds. The log cabin structures serve as living history centers with displays and demonstrations of early crafts. There is no charge to enter as the site is manned by volunteers, but it is recommended to leave a donation. The Kennard cabin was bought from Wardie Kennard and was a full two-story cabin. The top floor was halved with a half-loom upstairs that belonged to Diannah McGuire Kennard. The bottom is covered with tongue and groove sheathing because it was once a school room in the Craft Creek area of Magoffin County.
